UCL: Salah Shouldn’t Have Wished For Revenge Against Real Madrid –Hamann (Updated: Wednesday, 18th May 2022, 04:54 PM)

Liverpool hero, Didi Hamann has criticized Mohamed Salah’s outburst of wishing to revenge against Real Madrid in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Recall that the Egyptian star stated this immediately Real Madrid ousted Manchester City in the semi Final on Wednesday on 6-5 aggregate.
“We have a score to settle,” Salah noted.

It is a repeat of the final in 2018 in which Los Blancos beat Liverpool 3-1 with Karim Benzema’s opener and a brace from Gareth Bale securing their 13th European Cup.

However, Hamann, who was unhappy with his comment, told Sky Sports that he would have remained silent until the final has been played to voiced his anger.

“I saw the tweet and I’m not a big fan of it, I’ve got to say,” Hamann told Sky Sports.

“I always prefer when players keep quiet, they can talk after the game. But I understand where he’s coming from. He said before the game he would rather play Madrid, he’s got that now so let’s hope he has a cool head.”
To reach the final, Liverpool also defeated Villarreal 5-3 on aggregate.

Salah’s Record

He has the most goals in one season (32), has scored in a record five straight opening match days and has the most Premier League Player of the Months awards in one season, having won three in 2017-18, his maiden campaign with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Salah And Ramos Incident

The incident that Salah is referring to dates back to the 2018 Champions League final, when Liverpool faced Real Madrid and the Egyptian forward sustained an injury from Sergio Ramos that forced him off in the first half. Los Blancos then went on to lift the trophy.

Now, although Ramos has since moved on and is no longer playing for the club, Salah will be out for revenge when the two teams meet in Paris on May 28.

Salah’s Charity Lifestyle

Salah is active in regeneration projects in Nagrig, his hometown where 65% of people live in poverty, donating money to help build a school and hospital.
