SARS Allegedly Killed Nigerian Footballer, Kaka; Officers of the Nigerian Police Force, (SARS), have allegedly played a significant role in the death of a Nigerian footballer, kazeem Tiyamiyu, widely known as Kaka.
The incident happened on Saturday, February 22, 2020, in Sagamu. According to an eyewitness, the Nigerian police shot Kaka’s car tyres and the vehicle somersaulted many times leading to his death.
It is not clear why the Police officers shot Kaka’s vehicle, but the eyewitness said that the footballer was allegedly returning from training when he was stopped by the security agents. See Kaka’s dead body below after resuscitation failed in the hospital.
kaka played for Remo Stars Football club based in Sagamu, Nigeria. The club has released an official statement on the unfortunate incident.
Posting on its Twitter Page, the club’s management said, “We regret to announce the departure of our assistant Captain and Defender, Tiyamiyu Kazeem (Kaka). The Club is doing everything possible to investigate his ultimately death. May his soul rest in perfect peace.” See the tweet below.

Tributes have been pouring in from Twitter. Someone wrote, “Footballer allegedly killed in Isagamu by SARS, RIP Kaka, Your country failed you. For this, there is a serious riot in the town.”
Another wrote, “When will Nigeria Govt stop these SARS people from this their illicit jobs, You won’t believe they just shot a guy dead now tagging him a Yahoo boy, meanwhile the guy is a very popular Footballer, RIP.”
