Premier League: Ndidi In Action, Iheanacho Benched As Leicester Beat Villa To Go Second (Updated: Sunday, 21st February 2021, 07:45 PM)

Leicester City edged Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park in Sunday’s Premier League clash to go second on the log.

Wilfred Ndidi was in action for 90 minutes in the encounter while compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute.

James Maddison and Harvey Barnes put Leicester 2-0 ahead before Bertrand Traore reduced the deficit.

Maddison struck in the 19th minute after receiving the ball in the Box and firing a shot around Tyrone Mings and into the corner.

In the 23rd minute, Leicester doubled their lead thanks to Barnes who pounced after Emiliano Martinez spilled a shot.

Three minutes into the second half Villa pulled a goal back through Traore but Leicester held on to claim all three points.

The Foxes are now on 49 points, seven points behind Manchester City.
