Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, has described Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, a bastion of democracy and epitome of uncommon leadership demonstrated by Late Premier of Old Eastern region, Dr. Micheal Okpara.
The group made this known in a statement on Monday, by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
Ohaneze, while felicitating with the Abia Governor on the occasion of his 57th birth anniversary, noted that Ikpeazu has given the state infrastructural facelifts which have fostered inflow of local and foreign business investments to thrive in Abia, adding that the Ikpeazu-led administration will be remembered for rewriting the narrative of governance in the state on the steady and speedy execution of legacy projects that stand the test of time.
The Igbo group also noted that the ongoing establishment of Enyimba Economic City by the Ikpeazu administration has enhanced the development of the small and medium scale enterprises where thousands of youths, men, and women gainfully produce local products and make income for their daily needs.
Ohanaeze equally noted that the current Abia Government has not only provided a safe and conducive environment for every sector of the state and the national economy to thrive in the state, but it has also successfully guaranteed the security of lives and properties, through the constant provision of logistics to conventional security agencies to tackle all forms of criminalities in the state.
The Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization, also added that the modern security architecture adopted by the Ikpeazu-led government has equally guaranteed the total reduction of restiveness, whereby, the citizens embraced, and being empowered through mechanized agriculture for self-dependency and survival.
Ohanaeze noted with great satisfaction that Governor Ikpeazu is one of the leaders that has been at the fore burner with other patriotic and well-meaning leaders of the southeast extraction, on the clamor for better welfare packages, ranging from Infrastructures, federal appointments, increase in federal allocation, creation of the additional state in southeast among others by the national government.
The group urged Ikpeazu to remain steadfast and dedicated to the untiring efforts of his government to ensure the dividends of democracy are brought to every doorstep of Abia people, irrespective of political, religious, and tribal backgrounds.
