MTN Nigeria’s Chief Risk Officer, Cyril Ilok Resigns (Updated: Saturday, 23rd April 2022, 12:51 AM)

Cyril Ilok has tendered his resignation at MTN Nigeria.

Ilok resigned as the chief risk and compliance officer of the telecom giant.

Uro Ukpanah, company secretary at MTN Nigeria, in a statement on Wednesday, said the resignation would be effective from September 30, 2022.

“Ilok joined MTN Nigeria on November 4, 2002, as a Senior Internal Auditor and rose steadily through the ranks to his current position,” the statement reads.

“During his 19+ years at the Company, he contributed immensely to the growth of our organisation, leading Audit and Risk Management projects that laid a sound foundation, leading to an improvement of the internal control and governance framework of MTN Nigeria.

“The Board and Management of MTN Nigeria wish Mr. Ilok the very best in his future endeavours.”

The telco giant said it would announce a successor soon.

Recently, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) granted MTN the final approval to operate as Momo Payment Service Bank Limited (Momo PSB).

This was after MTN Nigeria and Airtel Africa received an “Approval in Principle” (AIP) from CBN to operate subsidiaries as payment service banks.
