In response, “Under the Canopy” is a 2-minute, 51-second song that describes Mayorkun’s musical journey and how he started his career. It is performed in two languages: English and Yoruba.
An introduction to the song “Under the Canopy” samples an audio version of the ritual claims made by the social media influencer accusing Mayorkun and Skiibii. Mayorkun’s latest song was written from a place of sincere feeling.
Mayorkun expressed dissatisfaction with the spread of negative news online about a ritual claim by a social media influencer that almost cost him his music career and reputation.
The Clemzy-produced song “Under the Canopy” serves as Mayorkun’s debut for the year. It comes after he featured on Rotimi’s record, “Sade,” alongside Nasty C and his previous project, “Love.. For Free,” an extended play.
