Following the plan by some youths in Akure, the Ondo State capital to converge on the streets to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the EndSARS protest, policemen were seen gathered to prevent any form of protest.
At the popular Cathedral junction, in Akure, the vans of policemen were seen stationed with the officers mounting various posts in the junction.
The policemen had arrived at the junction as early as 7:00 am to carry out the task.
Meanwhile, youths involved in the planning of the one-year anniversary of the EndSARS campaign that shook most parts of the country last year had vowed that the event would hold.
However, the presence of the police caused a bit of traffic snarl in the Cathedral junction as residents of the State were seen moving about their normal duties.
