Christian leaders urge Southern Kaduna people to pray for peaceful coexistence (Updated: Monday, 26th December 2022, 02:44 PM)

The Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association, SKCLA, has urged the people to use the Christmas season to pray for God’s intervention in the incessant attacks on the area.

In a statement issued by the SKCLA Chairman, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, he said, “The situation in Southern Kaduna calls for prayers for God’s intervention in what is happening that people are being killed every day and property destroyed by unknown gunmen who derive pleasure in taking the lives of others at will.”

He added, “We must be consistent in seeking the presence of the Almighty in what is happening in Southern Kaduna, and it is only God’s intervention that can turn the ugly situation into a united and peaceful area where people will have time to pursue their means of livelihood.”

He congratulated Christians for successfully marking this year’s Christmas celebration and urged them to live by its teachings for a peaceful and united society.

Kure noted that though the celebration is bleak amid renewed attacks on communities in Southern Kaduna, the people cannot be intimidated or cowed to vacate their ancestral land, saying that the birth of Jesus Christ should be a turning point in the lives of the people.

He urged the Christians to use the season in praying for the repose of the souls of those whose lives were cut short by the terrorists and to grant speedy recovery to those who sustained various injuries.

Kure, who is also the Vision Pioneer of Throne Room Trust Ministry Kafanchan, reminded the people to continue in the spirit of Christmas, show love and extend hands of fellowship to the needy as exemplified during the life and times of Jesus Christ, stressing that it is by so doing that the people would live in peace with each other.

He prayed that the birth of Jesus Christ in this season would bring forth total healing in the land and restore hope to the people of Nigeria.

The SKCLA Chairman reminded those yet to collect their permanent voter cards to ensure they do so, to actively participate in choosing their leaders to come February 2023.
