Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea forward Timo Werner, who is expected to move on this summer, TeamTalk reports.
Chelsea signed Werner from RB Leipzig for £45million in 2020, but the 25-year-old has largely been disappointing.
Werner has made just six league starts for Blues this season with Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz been preferred in attack by the German coach.
Dortmund’s interest in Werner stems from concerns that they will lose Erling Haaland in the summer.
The Norwegian is being strongly tipped to head to England or Spain in a big-money deal and Dortmund will need to find a replacement.
Despite his struggles in England, Werner was hugely impressive in his homeland. A return of 28 goals from 34 Bundesliga outings in 2019-20 prompted Chelsea to make their move.
The report adds that Dortmund are confident Werner can rediscover his best form in his homeland, hence the interest.
